NORTH KONAWE, Suara Muhammadiyah – The Medical Team of the Lamongan Muhammadiyah Hospital (RSML) who are members of the Disaster Emergency Management Team of MDMC Indonesia in Southeast Sulawesi reach the North Konawe Regency. This team has been trying to break through the flood blockade since June 12, 2019 which has cut off the Trans Sulawesi route.
The team, which was led by dr Akbar Rasyid with 3 nurses and 1 administration staff, arrived at the North Konawe organizer post at 17.10 WITA before meeting with the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Health Office.
By a short message, dr Akbar stated that the trip to North Konawe was very challenging and they had to climb a raft to get through the flood that has reached 70 cm. The Muhammadiyah team is still conducting assessments in Tangguluri Village, Asera Subdistrict, North Konawe Regency, which is planned to be Muhammadiyah service post.
Meanwhile, the Logistics Team carrying a truck containing rice, infant foods, medicines, and hygiene kits. This logistics team started the medical team and is still trying to get through the flood that is still high. This condition is because trucks can’t pass the rafts and the floods. Some other vehicles are caused trouble to the engine so that they had to return to the Coordinating Post to set up the next delivery plan. (Huda / Sapari)
