ALOR, Suara Muhammadiyah – STKIP Muhammadiyah Kalabahi, East Nusa Tenggara, (Muhammadiyah Teacher Training and Education College in Kalabahi) expanding its wings through the socialization of new student admissions in the 2020/2021 academic year. The socialization held in local school and then even to the house of worship. One of the socializations agenda was held on Sunday (23/02) at the Imanuel Hikbur Church, Tribur Village, Alor Barat Daya District.
Rahmad Nasir, as the new student admission team for 2020/2021 academic year from STKIP Muhammadiyah Kalabahi, addressed in front of church attendees about the importance of education for regional development especially for the Alor Barat Daya District, Tribur Village. He also remarks about the Muhammadiyah programs for hundreds of years developing the country through education and health aspects.
In his brief explanation, Rahmad Nasir also conveyed about the tuition fee reduction program for people whose children were recommended by pastor, also by local head or by school headmaster.
“for representing the church congregation, pastors can recommend maximum 3 prospective students and they will get a 20% discount during their education at STKIP Muhammadiyah Kalabahi, both in Elementary Teacher Education Study or Mathematics Education. Moreover, the same opportunity for the local public can be also recommended by headmaster of high school/ vocational/ Islamic Senior High School or by local head with maximum of 3 prospective students. There is potential scholarship, Enhancement Academic Achievement program which has been impact for the students who studying at Muhammadiyah. This is in order to adjust the economic condition of the local community, studying at STKIP Muhammadiyah Kalabahi can be paid the tuition fee by instalment”, explained by STKIP lecturer who was also assigned as a preceptor in student job training program of STKIP Muhammadiyah Kalabahi in Tribur Village.
While joking, Rahmad who is also the chairperson of Elementary Teacher Education Study Muhammadiyah Kalabahi, gave an example several of Tribur students who have successfully graduated even though their parents are unpretentious family.
In the same occasion a dialogue session with the congregation also opened, there was a critically response from one of congregation, but the dialogue still intimately. One of the congregation entrusted to Muhammadiyah Alor to strive for the Government Civil Servant recruitment system which has high standard and generalize all participant in all regions of Indonesia, so many regional participant were not absorbed as a part of Government Civil Servant because they failed on the test. The dialogue ended in 13.00 WITA and continued with the convivial event.
According to Wens Jefersin Dua Lau, as a student coordinator of job training program STKIP Muhammadiyah Kalabahi, stated that this activity made STKIP Muhammadiyah and the community of Tribur Village getting intimate each other.
“We will build communication with other churches and schools to carry out similar activities. In addition to introducing the Muhammadiyah campus, also in the context of build public awareness to get higher level of education,” he said. (Raspa/Riz/Ayu)
